R4X 006b BIOS
http://www.mediafire.com/?1332uzr1eaq6ppc R4x 1005 Updated PCIE Codes http://myfreefilehosting.com/f/8850f66677_8.09MB R4E 1103 1103 Improves High Frequency DRAM Compatibility Improves Peripheral Compatibility http://www.mediafire.com/?kbw58mbxaf8zqs0 Update 1201 ofr ALL R4X: 1201 http://www.mediafire.com/?vasugv1jdh2kiy5 R4x 0013 Improves DRAM OC, at least for me. Can feedback here http://www.mediafire.com/?08tcosnw4nezequ 0016 for all R4x Just based on 0015 but adds 5v and 5.5v options to mos volt control http://www.datafilehost.com/download-1872e9f8.html Improved DRAM OC (specially 2Dimm /channel) at least for me 0018 http://www.datafilehost.com/download-03f241a9.html updates some pcie codes open range off vga core to -222 Download Latest OCpak: http://www.mediafire.com/?5ihpo4g5yq1pbp1 Flashing OC Key Firmware Connect ROG white USB cable from PC to OCKey USB port Make sure OC Key Cable is connected from MB to OC Key (MB needs to be at least in Standby Mode) Run F/W Update Download latest guide: http://www.mediafire.com/?ybc9bjlbxvhlud9 Latest ROG CPUZ http://www.mediafire.com/?6aj70jtxl267v2l Extreme Overclocking Steps 1. Find out your best temperature for your RAM/IMC speeds/config. 2. Set your OC settings and save and exit at that temperature. (Don’t worry about the Turbo Core Ratio since that only kicks in once you start loading the OS) 3. After the bootup, go into the BIOS again. 4. Set RC WARM boot fast under Memory Timings to Enabled so that you don’t retrain Memory at reboots. 5. Set ClockGen Full Reset to Disabled if you plan to change BCLKs in OS and do not want a powerdown-powerup at reboots. (If you powerup with ClockGen Full Reset Disabled you may have problems booting so either do an OC recovery or clearcmos and load profile with it enabled) 6. Start pulling temperatures down and when ready, just save and exit. Here is my actual bench procedure Load extreme oc profile low current Set core ratio to 42x Set bclk to 131 or more (etc etc depends on max cpu frequency can start lower cpu ratio) Set dram freq to 2444 or more (depends on ur imc/dram) Under dram timings set load tight psc profile if using psc Set vcore to 1.65v Set vtt to 1.35v Set vsa to 1.35v Set both dram voltage to 1.85v Set cpu pll to 2.10v Wait till around -30+C and save exit Go back to bios to set RC WARM boot fast & ClockGen Full Reset to Disabled & save exit Enter os around -40+c Notes: Stalling at DEBUG Port 79 – Happens when CPU is stretched with DRAM and BCLK. Can use Slow Mode to pass this part Keep seeing Please Enter BIOS to recover settings and BIOS doesn’t save settings. Clear CMOS and enter BIOS, load defaults and save and exit once. When you face message ‘System Unstable. Your CPU Ratio may be down at 12x due to unsuitable conditions’ – Choosing the right ClockGEN Filter setting or Turbo Mode functionality or CPU Running temperature will fix this. Note that when this message pops up, pressing reset or power button yields no response. When you keep pressing reset or crashes during booting and Voltiminder’s LEDs light up and don’t extinguish and DEBUG port stops at ‘70’, turn off AC and back on to power on normally. DEBUG port stops at ‘40’. Press power off for 4 seconds and then back on again. When benching cold, it is easier to pass the MRC Memory Training when at high Memory Frequencies at a warmer temperature than when you are benching. The IMCs on CPUs may vary greatly on Memory Frequency, if you see the Memory Training at initial boot go ‘b1’ directly into a ‘00’, that means the CPU’s IMC is not capable of the target frequency. If it goes after b1 into a 00 or a b3 or b4 that means the cpu’s imc is not capable of the frequency and no matter what rams or board wont matter. If its timings etc then u should at least see a b7 and after that some crash debug ports like 01 32 shutdown etc So it will be like: 00 after b1 – totally incapable B3 / b4 – imc maxin out trim down a few mhz and it will pass So assuming everything is fine then increasing freq 1mhz 1mhz your cpu imc will go pass to b3/b4 and then 00 This isn’t like Sandy Bridge whereby you can test clock walls at air-cooling, you need cold. Set the appropriate DRAM CLK Period to maximize Superpi Times You will need high VDIMM for Elpida Hypers to scale Set Rampage Tweak to Mode 1 for DRAM Compatility or to Mode 2 for DRAM OC start testing high bclk by setting 155 bclk and Set ClkGen Filter to disabled when pushign bclk to 150+ Last edited by Shammy; 03-22-2012 at 09:58 AM. |

some results
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() need to try upping the bclk now a bit but x55 freezes going into the OS This is at -15c ![]() I only have hynix sticks till tomorrow. Will test 2nd cpu tonight. Both max at 5.2ghz on air 1.52v 1m and wprimes are slower at 1200 10-12-10 then 667 9-9-9 Vantage and 11 then next 2 days as well Last edited by Splave; 11-15-2011 at 07:35 PM. |

With the right timings, DDR3-2400 should be faster than anything lower as memory controller frequency ramps with the divider. -Raja Last edited by Raja@ASUS; 11-17-2011 at 04:56 AM. |
