i'm trying to epower another old card, a good 4870 with adp3290 on the gpu vrm.
Here the datasheet: http://www.onsemi.com/pub_link/Collateral/ADP3290-D.PDF

There's the POWERGD on pin 2: Power−Good Output. Open−drain output that signals when the output voltage is outside of the proper operating range.

How can i understand if this pin must be cut before epower the card?

If i'm not wrong the open-drain output can be connected with a led. Is this the case?

Update:

I've quick soldered 2 wire for eliminate my doubt.

As i suspected a led turn on

After a quick test with aquamark i've see the card scale on 2d-3d clock mode, so i believe i can go ahead with soldering the epower.

Vid mods are simple
vid pin is usually routed to two resistors which only one is populated to determine logical value. Resistor values are not critical in this application they are usually around 10kOhm.

In datasheet you will find vidtable which define logic values on vids for different voltages.

All three resistors values are 10Kohm...Thank you.

You need have

VID7,VID6,VID1,VID2 connected to GND via 1-10k resistor, and no resistor to +3.3V
VID5,VID4,VID3,VID0 connected to +3.3V via 1-10k resistor, and no resistor to GND
to get "0x39" VID code you want.

on pcie connector
you dont need to look for external sources you have everything routed on pcb you just add or remove resistors
