Default HD 3850 AGP new MEM

Just another thread made by me xD

HD 3850 is for sure the most powerful AGP card.
I have two Sapphire cards and one has very strong core.

But as I noticed RAM on this cards is really s****. It overclocks very well, but only @air. Increasing voltage does nothing. In fact it easily damages the RAM. But the worst thing is that this chips hate cold.

The same card @LC and @LN2
(Don't get mislead by the pictures in @LC submission, I was just too lazy to add proper ones ;P).

Core does boost the card, but RAM is of the essence.
It uses this chips.

I wondered about replacing the MEM with something better. Both in terms of performance and "liking" low temperatures. Any ideas what could it be?

I made some research and I think, that memory used on GF 9800 GTX+ should be fine
Hynix H5RS5223CFR-N2C
The question is, will it work?

Same ballout and same configuration it should work without issues
In worst case you will need to edit bios to correct timings

But its possible that IMC in core dont like cold so you will not help yourself with this change at all

Well, there is also such possibility. But if I don't try I will never find out

Although I think it is directly RAM related problem. I tried another 3850 AGP card and had the same problem - RAM overclocked well on air (about 1150 MHz), but when I poured LN2, memory overclocking got very limited (975 MHz).

You can also see this dependance at HWBot submissions. People who are benching at ambient have better RAM clocks than people going subzero.

It happens, that I have one dead 9800 GTX+ with such RAM. As soon as I buy hot air station I will try to resolder the MEM.
