So I found a Bios that will feed my 980ti Kingpin 1.28 volts to keep from over voltage and stop the downclocking

@ cerealkeller:
0.25 Volt? YEah i found out pretty quick something wasnt right. The first time i wanted to put it to 1,30 volt and i instantly had 120% Power and temp raised from 40 o 70 C...i put it at default again as fast as possible...Later i watched the Power % when using it and found out i had to be between 1.00 V and 1,10 Volt...So i put it to over 1,5 Volt for as an accident--pretty scary...but a few seconds didnt harm it i guess.. ![]() |

no, 0.25 fits right about what i was experiencing..if i typed 1.05 Volts into the controller, the % Power and Temp was already higher than the default value.
So if GPU-Z just didnt show the right voltage, the higher temps shown were actually right and the card WAS running on higher voltage...and also Precision X and K-Boost worked and gave me about 1,3 Volts? So why the fuq cant i get only 5% higher clock? If not 24/7, why not even for benchmarks like valley? Hoe can it crash at 1550 mhz, no matter what voltage? Sickening. using both EVbot and classy controller i only see about .025v +/- .005v difference between the number i set and what is actually applied, my actual voltage being higher then what i set. so for example if i input 1.2v i actually see about 1.225-ish.
EDIT: should note, this is with a 980ti. Last edited by johnd0e; 05-27-2016 at 11:23 PM. |

for a 980 classy its definetly more 0.25 than 0.025 V.
edit: Just confirmed that Precision X shows about the right voltage, +0,25 Volt is very reasonable even if you say software isnt supposed to show it right, i can see temps and Power % raising and it seems to make sense....so once again, why cant i achieve only 25mhz more Clock Speed in a benchmark after raising Voltage from 1,21 to 1,3 or 1,35? Temps never go higher than 60-ish, even with overvoltage and i put the Power Target on max. There must be another kind of protection mechanism which doesnt allow the card really to take advantage of the voltage. I mean, why does Precision X even give the opportunity to fuqing "OverBOOST" 1,3 Volt, they can take their Boost and put it in their AXX. Can it be the driver thats blocking me?
