give thiaphoon burner a go. it allows you to make any ram compatible or take lessor ram and run it higher. i was able to flash my 1600 mhz ram up to 2133 then i was able to over clock it up to 2300...

im thinking he fried his vregs because the bottom of his board has condensation. and sinc e they heat up pretty good...thus re melting the ice..presto...they burn up....(speculation of course) it...
