EVGA Broadwell-E Overclocking

Finally got some time to bench the new Broadwell-E 6950X CPU on EVGA's new(and old) X99 mobos. All three boards (X99 Classy, FTW-K, and Micro-2 all behave alike and require around the same tuning on similar bios's. I'll post an OC tuning guide for the EVGA X99 bios and broadwell-E tuning a bit later. Can do higher uncore speeds without OC socket this generation. Also memory performance is quite good on EVGA mobos now, but ultimately depends on CPU/IMC.

I went back to hand pouring for these sessions, can't beat the challenge of a system like this. I'll update the thread as I bench different apps. Today was Firestrike Extreme QUAD SLI, it's enough for one day of running quad solo haha :D

System Specs:
-EVGA 997 FTW-K | INTEL 6950X KPC DRAGON F1 DARK LN2 Cooled
-EVGA GTX980Ti KP QUAD SLI KPC TEK-9 LN2 Cooled
-G.Skill Trident-Z 32GB Quad channel
-EVGA SUPERNOVA 1600W x1 | EVGA 1500W NEX SUPERNOVA x4
-TONS of LN2

Do u ever find a single 8x pin on the mobo to be limiting to these pigish cpus?

I've never measured the current there with these cpus maxed out Allen, certain Tin has though. Ftw-k, micro 2 both using single 8 pin while classy uses dual connectors and I can say top end perf is very similar across all three mobos.

Tin said around 400W so connectors shouldn't be an issue. Even 5.8 BDWe vs 5.8 has-e, I think the ten core still consumes less power there.

And, will EVGA launch the new x99 Classified or x99 Dark?

Jacob said on the OCN podcast last week they would be working on a x99 Dark but there was no other info about it.

Damn, got it to passfinally!! This one ranks as one of the hardest quad scores I've attempted. Ground and pound till 24K busted, massive gpu power here.
One preset to go :D
